Loyal Textile Mills Ltd had their offices in a very old and sprawling building on Mount Road for many years. They felt the need to move into a more compact and well planned premises. They acquired a property in R A Puram and asked us to plan their new building and its interiors. The building was planned around a central atrium which divided the space into two wings. The ground floor was given to car parking and an entrance lobby. One wing had the work spaces - general offices on the second and third levels and the MD's offices on the fourth level. The first level houses a gym for the employees. The other wing houses the canteen on the first level with small meeting rooms,large lounges and discussion areas on the second and third levels. The fourth level houses the main board room.The two wings are connected by the corridor alongside the central atrium,with views into it at all levels. The building and its systems have been designed to conserve energy and provide maximum natural light . Big glass windows with vacuum sealed double glazing, energy efficient compact fluorescent lighting and energy saving air conditioning systems ensure this. Besides this, rain water harvesting and waste water treatment systems have also been installed in the site.
